The fourth edition of SkillHer Meet unfolded on April 25, 2024, at LMP Space, bringing together a diverse group of young women eager to explore the Career Space. With the theme "Roadmap to an Excellent Career for Undergrads and Early Career Professionals," the event promised valuable insights, and it delivered beyond expectations.

Key Speaker: Tomiwa Oladimeji

A journey from Administration to the dynamic world of Human Resource —Tomiwa Oladimeji, our esteemed keynote speaker, shared her transformation and the secrets to her success. Her journey was not just inspiring but also a testament to the potential within the career landscape.

Event Highlights:

The event kicked off with attendees introducing themselves, creating an engaging atmosphere. Tomiwa's bio was then presented, offering a glimpse into the wealth of knowledge she was about to share.

Keynote Session

Ms Oladimeji took the stage, by sharing sticky notes and asking the participants to write on the sticknote the career path they wanted when they were 5 years of age, when they were in the university and now. This brought about an interactive session where participants shared their aspirations at three different phases of life which prompted the facilitator to share reasons there were career disparities within the phases. She moved on to share the concept of career, what career is and what it is not.

She provided a roadmap for excellence in career as an undergrad and early career professional , emphasizing:

• Self Discovery and Goal Setting

• Skills Development

• Education and Training

• Gaining the Experience

• Networking Mastery

• Professional Development

• Career Exploration

• Goal Resetting

• Personal Branding

• Recommitment and Persistence

During the Q&A session, Afi posed a concern: About the creative space and AI replacing their jobs. Tomiwa answered by saying that AI can only replace the jobs of those who can't use the AI function for their growth and who are also not growing in their space.

The event concluded with heartfelt appreciation for Tomiwa Oladimeji's invaluable insights. Participants left armed with knowledge to achieving excellence in career.

SkillHer Meet 4.0 was a resounding success. As we reflect on the event, let's apply the shared knowledge as we excel and move our careers forward.
