What the SkillHer Hot Seat Reminded Us
Last week, we introduced our first SkillHer Saturday Hot Seat — a space for honest conversations and shared lessons.
The question was simple:
What’s one mistake, setback, or hard lesson that taught you something valuable about life, work, business, or growth?
And the responses were powerful.
Women shared stories of missed opportunities, wrong decisions, setbacks, and moments that stretched them. But through it all, one thing stood out:
Growth is often shaped by the lessons we didn’t expect to learn.
The truth is, mistakes are part of the journey. Setbacks do not mean failure. Sometimes, they are the very experiences that prepare us for what’s next.
That’s why conversations like the Hot Seat matter.
They remind us that we are not alone.
They help us learn from one another.
They turn personal experiences into collective wisdom.
But reflection is only the first step.
The next step is asking:
What will I do differently because of what I’ve learned?
Will you take that opportunity?
Will you try again?
Will you show up more intentionally for your growth?
At SkillHer, we believe growth happens best in community — through shared stories, shared opportunities, and shared support.
So as we move forward, don’t just carry your lessons. Use them.
And when the next Hot Seat comes, show up.
Your story may be the wisdom someone else needs.
