Inside SkillHer SAW: A Week-by-Week Recap
The Skills Acquisition Workshop organized by SkillHer & powered by the dRPC has been an inspiring journey, combining hands-on training, mentorship, and empowerment. Each week drew in diverse groups of participants — women from different walks of life, eager to learn, connect, and apply new knowledge. With every session, momentum grew, blending technical skills with entrepreneurial confidence.
Here’s how the program unfolded week by week:
Facilitators’ Workshop
Before the first participants came on board, our facilitators convened to align on the big picture. This was more than just logistics, it was about setting the tone, harmonizing approaches, and ensuring the women we would serve got maximum value from start to finish. More highlights on the session here
Week 1: Project Management, Research & Finance
The opening week welcomed participants who were eager to strengthen their organizational and financial foundations. They explored project management frameworks that break down ideas into manageable steps, coupled with research skills to back decisions with data. The week rounded off with finance essentials, giving participants practical tools to budget, track expenses, and think sustainability from day one.
Week 2: Web Development & Entrepreneurship; Business Structuring
A new set of participants joined in Week 2, ready to explore the digital and structural sides of building ventures. Web development sessions gave them a firsthand view of how digital tools can expand reach and opportunity. Alongside this, entrepreneurship and business structuring helped participants frame their ideas into proper ventures, equipping them to build businesses that can attract partners, investors, and long-term growth.
Week 3: Social Media Management, Graphics Design & Entrepreneurship; Sales & Marketing
By Week 3, another group of participants came on board to sharpen skills at the intersection of creativity and commerce. Social media management and graphics design gave them the ability to craft compelling content and visuals that stand out. Paired with entrepreneurship, sales, and marketing, the focus shifted to positioning and promotion thereby empowering participants not just to create but to connect, sell, and scale in competitive markets.
The SkillHer SAW experience has been more than just training. It's been a deliberate journey where each week introduced participants to new skills, and new possibilities. And as each group wrapped up their sessions, one truth became clearer: equipping women with relevant skills doesn’t just change their career paths — it shapes their futures.
