SkillHer Meets March; Discussion Connect Session Recap

The online SkillHer Discussion Connect session held on March 29th, 2025 at 4 PM focused on: Finding Your Balance: Career Growth, Relationships & Long Term Friendships. Monilola; a current Project Management Trainee introduced the Skillher community to everyone on the meeting, alongside a bit of introduction of the facilitators and the theme of the day. The discussion connect was moderated by SkillHer’s programs manager, Kofoworola Akinsola- an Epidemiologist and Public Health Researcher via Google meets. This exciting, refreshing and impactful session took the form of a hangout alongside Flow Wellness, providing a platform for the participants to unwind, connect, learn, and build relationships, not just on a personal wellbeing level but also for professional advancement.  Members of the SkillHer community, had the pleasure of such a refreshing time at the Picnic which took place at The Nest Pre-School in Jericho, Ibadan. Prioritizing Wellness: SkillHer’s May Hangout Recap On May 31st, 2024, some members of the SkillHer community gathered at the serene LMP Space for a revitalizing hangout session focused on wellness, connection, and shared healing . The aim? To take a deep breath, unplug, and nurture our minds, bodies, and sisterhood in a safe, supportive environment. We kicked off the session with warm introductions and light networking, easing into the day with laughter and shared stories. A round of fun games;  including Ludo and Whot gave us the perfect icebreaker, creating space for joy and bonding. The heart of the session centered on mental and emotional wellness . We opened up deeply during a reflective discussion on “How we’ve come out of feeling stuck in life.” Each woman’s voice brought a unique perspective on resilience: Islamiyah found strength in speaking with loved ones.
