SAW Session Highlights: Building Skills, Fueling Confidence

We’re halfway through the Skills Acquisition Workshop (SAW) powered by SkillHer x dRPC, which commenced weeks ago with the Facilitator's workshop and the journey has been nothing short of transformational.

From the first session, it was clear that this isn’t just another set of trainings. SAW is a curated experience to help young women not just learn, but thrive. With each workshop, participants are not only picking up new skills but also unlocking boldness, structure, and strategic thinking.

Here’s a look at some of the sessions we’ve had so far:

Research & Project Management

Kicking things off, this session demystified what it takes to conduct effective research & lead projects with confidence. From managing timelines and stakeholders to using modern tools, participants learned how to take an idea and move it into execution — whether in tech, business, or community projects.

Key Takeaway: A well-structured plan turns passion into results.

Web Development

Hands met keyboards/keypads as the basics of HTML, CSS, and the foundations of web design were explored. For many participants, this was their first interaction with tech from the creator’s side — not just the consumer side.

Key Takeaway: Everyone left knowing “you don’t need to know everything before you start building.”

Entrepreneurship & Business Structuring

Entrepreneurship is more than ideas; it’s about structure. This session helped participants understand how to lay a solid foundation — from formulating the business to defining & filling critical roles to building systems that support growth. Participants left with new clarity on what it means to be not just a founder, but a builder of sustainable value.

Key Takeaway: Structure isn’t boring — it’s what makes growth possible.

Finance for Women

Money isn’t just a resource — it’s a tool. In this power-packed session, participants learned about business & personal finance management, savings culture, and how to think like a financially responsible leader. We tackled myths, shared strategies, and encouraged participants to take control of their financial stories.

Key Takeaway: Financial empowerment is foundational to sustainable self and business leadership.

And More To Come...

SAW has been rich, real, and relevant. And the best part? We’re not done yet.

With more sessions lined up including Social Media Management, Sales & marketing, Effective leadership & communication and capstone projects; we’re setting women up not just for the now, but for the next.
